Winstanley College Needs YOU!
Winstanley College is looking for people to take an active role in the governance of the College, from all backgrounds with differing opinions and areas of expertise.
James Pearson, former Winstanley College student has become a member of the governing body at Winstanley College.
James brings a number of skills to the Board in addition to his commitment to education and a desire to continue his involvement with the College. He is a graduate with a First class honours degree in law. James is currently working part time in FE whilst maintaining a number of voluntary roles in the community; including being a Special Constable and a Governor of Calderstones NHS Foundation Trust.
James brings youth, ambition and a renewed energy to the Board. His governor colleagues feel that he is a good ambassador for the College as well as demonstrating a huge commitment to his local community. As a member of the Board he brings a young perspective which complements the skills which other governors have.
James says: “I believe my experience as a governor at the College will support my own personal and professional development and regard my role as a governor as an exciting and challenging opportunity.”
James applied for the position via the School Governors’ One-Stop Shop and following an interview by the Search Committee and appointment by the Board of Governors joined the Board in February 2011.
“You simply need to have a passion for furthering the interests and successes of Winstanley College.”
